Before the Easter holidays Lower and Upper Sixth Art students were given an exclusive tour of Damien Hirst’s studio in Gloucestershire. They were privileged to view all his current work in production and some of his future projects too.
After a demonstration by Damien Hirst, each of the students had the opportunity to create pieces of spin art using a spinning machine (as featured in the photos below). They were also able to visit a guest house that he is working on at the moment, as part of a top secret project. At the beginning of term the same students were then treated to a private view at the Damien Hirst Retrospective at the Tate Modern. Damien’s curator and a Tate member of staff gave the Harrodian Sixth Formers a detailed tour, which enabled them to gain a deeper understanding and insight into his work.
