The School aims to provide a robust and challenging academic education to girls and boys. The School also aims to provide a full and rounded education which helps to develop pupils intellectually, morally, spiritually and in terms of their personal and social development.
The School is an independent fee-paying school. The principal points of admissions are at 4+, 8+, 11+, 13+ and Sixth Form, with pupils occasionally being admitted at other points when vacancies arise.
Admission to the Pre-Prep school at 4+, is by order of date of registration following informal group assessments.
Admission to the Prep School at 8+ and 11+ is by examination and interview.
Admission to the Senior School at 13+ is by examination at Common Entrance or the School’s own examinations and interview.
Admission to the Sixth Form is by examination, interview and satisfactory achievement at GCSE.
All offers of places are subject to the receipt of a satisfactory school reference.
The School is non-denominational and, within its student body, has a tradition of religious, ethnic and social diversity which it seeks to preserve as far as possible. The School offers internal support to children of ability who prove to have mild specific learning difficulties. The School is co-educational and aims to maintain a balance between boys and girls.
Conditions of Entry:
- Fees are payable in advance at the commencement of each term
- One term’s notice is required before removal of a pupil or one term’s fees in lieu thereof.
- The School reserves the right to apply increases from time to time
- Parents are required to notify the School if their children have been in contact with any infectious diseases.
- The school has complete discretion over the admission of pupils; the Headmaster's decision will be final in this regard.
Following initial competitive entrance examinations, it will not normally be possible to re-apply for a place at the school within 12 months, or to re-apply more than once.
