In December our Pre-Prep staff ran the Santa race at Richmond Park and raised £1,750 in aid of the Princess Alice Hospice, below. Our 14s and 15s pupils also thought about how they could make it a warmer winter for others, as they bought and wrapped presents for women and children at Sutton Women’s Centre.

Harrodian’s third annual Film Festival showcased films that were created, produced and directed entirely by pupils in the 13s and above.

This year’s Prefect Dinner, organised by Rosie Goodchild (U6) and Emma Cleevely (U6), was held at Cutlers’ Hall, home to one of the Livery Companies of the City of London formed in the 13th century. Both our Upper Sixth prefects and their aspiring successors from the Lower Sixth, together with Harrodian staff, all had the pleasure of attending the event.

Harrodian Battle of the Bands, an annual songwriting competition organised by the Music Department, never fails to be one of the highlights of the School calendar. This year’s eagerly awaited competition attracted auditions from over 25 solo artists and groups ranging from the 8s to the Upper Sixth. Ten acts were then selected to perform in the final.

There were high expectations for the U13s Girls hockey team going into the season as two of their members, Olivia Timmermans (12G) and Poppy Harrison (12S), play for Surrey County. Determined to achieve more than second place this time, they gained a 2-1 victory against Emanuel School in the Highgate School tournament and brought home the trophy.
