At the beginning of the Summer Term, both Reception classes went to visit Barnes Fishmongers. Michael the Fishmonger welcomed us by producing an enormous snapper fish!
We looked at different types of flat fish and how they have two eyes on the top of their bodies and use camouflage to hide from predators.
The highlight of the trip was looking at the live lobsters and seeing where the female lobster carries her eggs. The teachers bought various fish and a crab to take back to school for pupils to investigate and to sketch their favourites.
