Both PP1 classes visited Kew Gardens on the rainiest day of the year! In Science the pupils are learning all about plants and how they grow.
The staff at Kew Gardens talked to the children about rainforests and let them hold banana leaves and other items made from rainforest materials.
The group also enjoyed visiting the Waterlily House and seeing the huge lily pads floating on top of the water.
In the Temperate House glasshouse pupils learnt about plants that yield fruits and they saw bananas, mangos and coconuts growing. They even had the opportunity to taste some of the fruits.
