During the October half term, Ms Reynolds, Head of Music, and her team took our senior choirs to Barcelona

Ranging in ages from the 13s to the Upper Sixth, the choirs performed in a variety of venues: from a small rural church to the final venue of Barcelona Cathedral, where they sang to over 200 people. With a programme consisting of a mix of church and traditional music – Ava Maria, Amazing Grace and The Lord Keep You and Bless You amongst some of the pieces – both the senior girls’ and boys’ choirs sang beautifully and were expertly accompanied on the piano by Mr Dowd. A special mention to Ella Davenport (U6B), Isabella Tesler (U6WH) and Sofia Donavan-Lafuente (U6WA), who performed outstanding solos over the course of the tour. In between official concerts, the pupils also performed flash mob performances – spontaneous singing - in a variety of locations from Tarragona Cathedral, Parc Guell to Montserrat. The singing was always greeted enthusiastically with clapping and calls for encores from unsuspecting but appreciative audiences.
