During October half term, Sixth Formers studying History of Art, Photography and Graphic Design had the opportunity to view some of the most iconic and pivotal works of art and architecture in New York.

The city’s rich and varied landscape and its eye-catching skyline offered photographers a multitude of images to capture on camera (below). Highlights of this year’s Visual Arts trip included visiting the Met, where Mr Wilson, History of Art, gave students an insight into Velàzquez’s Portrait of Juan Pareja; the Guggenheim and MOMA museums; ascending the Empire State Building; a harbour tour of Ellis Island and experiencing graphic design in the work place at Empire Design Studios.
