All our 14s GCSE Art pupils visited the Post Pop: East Meets West exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery to see how the Pop Art movement continues to influence both Western and Eastern contemporary artists.
Meanwhile seventeen of our Sixth Form Art and Photography students attended the ‘First Thursdays’ Art event. ‘First Thursdays’ happens monthly, with over 150 galleries in East London coming together to run free exhibitions, talks, workshops and private views during a special late opening. The group met at Whitechapel Gallery and travelled up to Hoxton Square via Brick Lane, visiting seven galleries en route. They viewed exhibitions displaying illustrations, paintings, street art, sculptures and film work. The event was a great opportunity to introduce students to art and culture from a different part of London.
